Packers top Waseca baseball team

WASECA — The Austin baseball team snapped a five-game losing skid when it topped Waseca (2-6 overall) 8-5 on the road Friday.
Austin sophomore Jacob Kempen picked up his first win for the Packers (3-7 overall) as he struck out nine and in just over five innings of work.
“Kempen did a nice job and we hit the ball real well,” Austin head coach Troy Watkins said.
Austin tallied 12 hits and freshman Nik Gasner led the way as he went three-for-four with a double, a triple and three RBIs.
