Local medical center to hold Women in Health workshop

Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin will hold its annual Women in Health workshop on Saturday, May 5 at the Historic Hormel Home in Austin. The workshop begins at 9 a.m. with a welcome by CEO Dr. Mark Ciota.
The 2012 workshop will treat women with speakers from Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin, as well as humorist and author Mary Pierce, who has been entertaining corporate and community audiences since 1996. Pierce, from Wisconsin, is the author of three books of inspirational humor for women, beginning with “When Did I Stop Being Barbie and Become Mrs. Potato Head,” which will be complimentary to all registered participants.

—Building a Healthier Community — Rod Nordeng, Vice President of Operations at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin.
Tickets are now on sale for $5 at customer service at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin and at the Historic Hormel Home. Along with breakfast and the free book, 2.1 continuing education credits also are available.
