Austin was one of 12 cities in the state last summer selected for a series of “Community Conversations” by the League of Minnesota Cities.

The conversations were part of the LMC’s “Cities, Services, and Funding: Broader Thinking, Better Solutions” initiative. Austin area residents are invited to a special dessert reception and presentation on Wednesday, April 25 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Austin Public Library, Fourth Ave. NE, room 323.

The League held four conversations with city residents in each of the 12 chosen cities between May and October of 2011. The conversations were designed to engage participants in discussions about the future of city services in Minnesota: what should be provided, how they should be delivered, and how they should be paid for.

Having completed the conversations, the League is preparing to release a report of findings. It plans to return to each city to thank participants and to present a summary of those findings to the community.

Space is limited. Those interested should RSVP to dreeder@lmc.org or 651-215-4031.
