Kenneth E. Flicek, 74, of Austin, Minn. died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, Minn.
Kenneth was born on July 30, 1937, in Austin to George and Julia (Valek) Flicek. He grew up in Austin, where he attended Queen of Angels Elementary school and Austin High School.
Kenneth worked at Cavalry Cemeter, Austin, then later moved to Rochester and worked at Grand View Memorial Gardens, St. Mary’s Hospital. After, he worked at Olmsted County Courthouse until he retired. In 2005 Kenneth moved back to Austin, residing at Kingsley House.
Kenneth was a member of Queen of Angels Church in Austin. He enjoyed TV, hunting, fishing and spending time with his nephews.
Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Mary Flicek, Austin; brother, Glen Flicek, Austin; sister, Bernice (Wilbur) Carpenter, Austin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Bernard Flicek.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held at 1 p.m. April 14 at Calvary Cemetery, Austin. A gathering and lunch will follow the service at Melvin and Mary Flicek’s home.
