HAYFIELD — The Hayfield baseball team committed eight errors and left 14 runners on base as it lost to Kasson-Mantorville (4-1 overall, 4-1 HVL) in Hayfield Tuesday.

The Komets took a 5-1 lead when they blasted a grand slam in the third inning.

“It’s hard to win many games with eight errors and 14 left on base,” Hayfield head coach Kasey Krekling said. “It’s disappointing that we were the better team and we couldn’t get the win.”
