Emil F. Mueller, 90

Emil F. Mueller, 90, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Odyssey Hospice in Mesa, Ariz., surrounded by his family.
Arriving on June 23, 1921, Emil was born in Stacyville, Iowa, to John and Elizabeth (Thome) Mueller. In September 1942 Emil was drafted and served more than three years in the Army during the European Theater. He was a member of the 4th degree Knights of Columbus, a lifetime member of the American Legion, and also a member of the VFW. On Jan. 30, 1946, Emil married the love of his life, Margaret Loecher in Stacyville. For 35 years he farmed southeast of Osage, Iowa. They moved permanently to Mesa in 1999. He enjoyed his retirement years in Arizona playing softball, tennis, golf, dancing, and bridge.
Emil is survived by his loving wife, Margaret of Mesa; daughter, Janet Pickar of Austin, Minn.; sons, Robert (Cheryl) Mueller of Mesa, and Richard Mueller of Forest City, Iowa; three brothers, Elmer (Mary) Mueller of Austin, Delphin (MaryAnn) Mueller of Austin, and Lavern (Gloria) Mueller of Osage, Iowa; five sisters Cyrilla Rockers of Austin, Minnesota, Maxine Halback of Austin, Irene Hemann of Stacyville, Anita Adams of Stacyville, and Mary (Jerome) Mullenback of Adams, Minn., five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Keith Mueller; one brother, Marvin Mueller; two sisters, Viola Mueller and Evelyn Brumm; four brothers-in-law.

A visitation will be held 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012, with a service to immediately follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 1204 South State Street Osage, Iowa 50461. Local arrangements entrusted to Champion Bucheit Funeral Home, 702 State Street Osage, Iowa 50461 (641)732-3706. Interment will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Osage.
