Commissioners to discuss redistricting

The county’s lines should soon come into clearer focus.
The county board will hold a public hearing at 10 a.m. during its regular board meeting Tuesday to discuss changes to the commissioner districts based on the 2010 U.S. Census.
The changes are expected to be minor, as the populations within the commissioner districts didn’t change much.
Last month, the board formed a redistricting committee of Auditor-Treasurer Doug Groh, Coordinator Craig Oscarson, City Clerk Lucy Johnson, county IT worker Duane Felt and Eric Miller of Jones Haugh & Smith Inc., who will serve as a volunteer.
The meeting kicks off with Human Services business at 8:30 a.m., and the regular meeting starts at 9:30 a.m.
Other business
—Arlen Schamber will give an update on the Turtle Creek Watershed District.
—Public Works Director Mike Hanson will discuss the reconstruction of County Road 112 in Grand Meadow.
