The Blooming Prairie softball team couldn’t get anything going at the plate Monday night, as it lost to New Richland/Hartland/Ellendale/Geneva 3-0 in New Richland.
The Blossoms struck out 17 times and managed just three hits on the game.
“We didn’t hit the ball, but (New Richland) pitched really well,” said head coach Ali Mach.
While Mach said her team is improving defensively, hitting has recently been a concern.
“Right now, that’s been one of our biggest weaknesses,” she said. “Defensively, I think we are getting better, but we just kind of need to learn our roles.”
Blooming Prairie pitcher Shelbi Swenson recorded six strikouts, one earned run on three hits and two errors.
The Blossoms (3-2) play at 4:30 p.m. today against United South Central.
