FIRST TEAM
Zach Wessels, guard, Austin
The sophomore was the Packers’ floor leader in every sense of the phrase as he controlled both sides of the ball. Wessels averaged 13.5 points, 4.1 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.6 steals, while shooting 55 percent from the field and 33 percent on three-pointers.
Bobbie Stephens, guard, Hayfield
The senior finished eighth in Minnesota history with 326 career three-pointers and he finished second in all-time scoring for Hayfield (22-6 overall) with 1,231 career points. In his senior year, Stephens averaged 14 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.2 steals and just 1 turnover per game, while shooting 38 percent from the arc.
Mike Goergen, forward, Southland
The junior put up the most single-season points in Southland school history (537) as he averaged 19.2 points and 6.8 rebounds for the Rebels. Goergen surpassed the 1,000-point mark for his career this season, as he shot 50 percent from the field and 35 percent from the three-point line.
Tom Aase, forward, Austin
The junior gave the Packers (23-6 overall) a boost on both ends of the court as he averaged 11.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.2 blocks and 1.45 steals. Aase was also efficient on offense as she shot 53 percent from the field, 32 percent on three-pointers and 73 percent from the free throw line.
Joe Aase, center, Austin
The 6-8 junior big man led the Packers with 15.4 points per game and he added 6.7 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per contest, while hitting on 42 percent of his three-pointers and 47 percent of his field goals.
SECOND TEAM
Cole Kruger, guard, Hayfield
The sophomore continued to grow as a scorer as he led the Vikings with 15.6 points per game, while adding 4.9 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2.3 steals per game. Kruger shot 52 percent from the field and 74 percent from the free throw line.
David Diang, guard, Lyle-Pacelli
The junior guard helped control the tempo for LP (11-15 overall) as he averaged 14.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 2.9 steals and 1.2 blocks per game.
Skylar Meyer, forward, Lyle-Pacelli
The junior gave the Athletics a boost on the perimeter and the paint as he averaged 14.6 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 4.2 blocks and 2.9 steals per game.
Michael Thomas, forward, Blooming Prairie
The junior forward could go inside and outside for BP (13-14 overall) as he averaged 15.3 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.1 blocks and 2.5 steals per game, while shooting 45 percent from the field.
John Rumpza, center, BP
The 6-6 freshman quickly established himself as one of the more dominant big men in the area as he averaged 15.6 points, 9.9 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, 1.3 assists and 1 steal per game. Rumpza shot 51 percent from the field and 36 percent from the three-point line, while hitting 67 percent of his free throws.
HONORABLE MENTION
Brady Kramer, forward, Hayfield
The versatile junior forward averaged 12.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists, while shooting 49 percent from the field and 36 percent on threes.
Nick Schmitz, forward, Southland
The junior gave the Rebels (18-10 overall) a boost with 12 points, 5 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game.
Goliath Oboyo, guard, Austin
While he didn’t put up big numbers (5.9 points, 2 steals and 1.8 assists per game), the senior played a lot of defense and provided a big lift in the Packer full court press. Oboyo also made his offensive looks count as he shot 48 percent from the field.
Gabe Kartes, forward, BP
The defensive-minded senior averaged 8 points and 1.3 steals while shooting 50 percent from the field.
Decker Bendtsen, guard, Southland
The junior averaged 10 points, 4 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.
Bryce Benson, center, Grand Meadow
The junior averaged 10.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.5 blocks while hitting 46 percent of his field goals for the Superlarks (9-18 overall).
