It’s a little windy in Austin today.

Winds could get up to 45 miles per hour in Mower County Tuesday, as much of Minnesota and western Iowa are under a wind advisory. The National Weather Service is calling for the advisory to lift by Tuesday night.

“We have some strong, southeasterly winds,” said Zach Taylor, NWS meteorologist.

Taylor said a strong low-pressure system from the west is combining with a cold front moving south to create cooler temperatures and lots of wind. Winds are expected to shift southwest and west before dying down, most likely by sunset.

Wednesday is expected to be mostly cloudy with a high in the mid-50s, though not as much wind.
