Plans underway for 2013 Paint the Town Pink

While organizers are still beaming from the $62,000 raised during the Paint the Town Pink event in February, plans are already underway for 2013.
Austin Convention and Visitors’ Bureau executive director Cheryl Corey wrote in an email that the CVB — which founded the city-wide breast cancer awareness event this year to raise money for The Hormel Institute’s cancer research — now has a link on its website, www.austincvb.com, for businesses to download a form to submit ideas for Paint the Town Pink 2013.
Paint the Town Pink — created to extend the success of the Austin Bruins hockey team’s inaugural “Paint the Rink Pink” fundraising game from 2011 — involved numerous Austin businesses and organizations Feb. 2-5.
While Corey said they won’t have a date set for 2013 until the Bruins’ league sets its schedule for next year, the event will most likely take place during the first week of February.
