NEW RICHLAND — The No. 4 seeded Hayfield’s girls basketball team had its season end in a 45-33 loss at No. 1 New Richland-H-E-G (28-0 overall) at New Richland.

Hayfield (14-13 overall) led by three with nine minutes left in the game but it couldn’t hold on as the Panthers pulled away.

“We played well until about the nine minute mark and then we had a couple of turnovers and a couple of missed shots,” Hayfield head coach Fred Kindschy said. “Then we were chasing them.”

The Vikings lost to NRHEG three times this season.
