Noted pianist Eugenio Zapata’s concert at Riverland Community College this Friday was canceled Wednesday, according to Riverland officials.

Riverland Music Instructor Scott Blankenbaker said Zapata canceled the show due to health reasons and is hoping to reschedule his performance for this fall.

Zapata is a professor at Mount Marty College in Yankton, S.D. He is a native of Colombia, has written several articles on piano pedagogy and has toured with several multi-faceted shows integrating dance, photos, video, poetry and other art forms in recent years.
