Emily Cafourek, 90

Emily Cafourek, 90, of Austin, Minn. died Monday, March 12, 2012, at her home. Emily Blecha was born Sept. 16, 1921, in Freeborn County, Minn. to Joseph and Mary (Tuchek) Blecha. Emily graduated from Public Schools of Freeborn County and worked on the family farm until she married Rudy Cafourek and continued farming, then they moved to Austin in 1951. She worked at Ma and Pa’s Produce in Austin and was a cook at the Main Event. A member of the Eagles Auxiliary, Emily loved dancing, cooking, gardening and growing flowers.
Survivors include one son, Gene Cafourek of Stewartville, Minn.; three daughters, Donna Berry of Austin, Lois (Stan) Wiegers of Plymouth, Minn., Sherry (Allan) Lunt of Austin; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Violet Kycek of Albert Lea; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary; son, Allan; two brothers and three sisters.
A Memorial service will held at noon Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with the Rev. Kristi Koppel officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Oakland Midway Lutheran Cemetery.
