Rockets down Packer hockey team

ROCHESTER — The Austin boys hockey team lost 6-1 at Rochester John Marshall (13-10-2 overall, 12-5 Big Nine) Thursday.
The Packers (4-20 overall, 1-14 Big Nine) posted 22 shots on goal in the third period as Ethan Larson netted the team’s lone goal to make it 5-1.
“I think we’re starting to realize we can play with these teams,” Austin head coach Tim Peterson said. “We played great in the third period.”
Austin killed a 5-on-3 powerplay in the first period, but still trailed 1-0 going into the second period, where the Rockets posted three goals.
Austin goalie Rainer Londino-Green had 44 saves and the Packers finished with 33 shots.
