Packer wrestlers beat Winona

The Austin wrestling team picked up a 34-30 win at Winona Thursday.
Winona picked up three forfeits, but Austin’s Erick Power, Brennen Russell, Joe Kamp and Mitch Tebay all picked up pins.
Kamp’s pin came at 152 against Chris Wisted, who had beaten Kamp earlier this season.
Riley Grinstead picked up a key 3-2 win for the Packers (4-4 overall, 4-4 Big Nine).
“Riley eeked out a hard-fought one-point match at 145 that would have given the dual to Winona had he lost,” Austin head coach Bill Kinney said. “We are used to kids like Erick Power and Brennen Russell getting the key wins in a match. Tonight was the night for some of our less heralded wrestlers to get the job done, and they came through big for us.”
