BLOOMING PRAIRIE — The Blooming Prairie girls basketball team scored six points in the last minute to beat United South Central (15-5 overall, 9-4 Gopher) 45-42 in BP Friday.
BP sophomore Sara Noble drilled a three-pointer with six seconds to give BP the lead for good just after USC missed the front end of a one-and-one that would’ve given them the lead.
BP freshman center Taylor Hagen, who had 17 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocks, tied the contest up at 42 when she hit a three-pointer with 1:17 left in the game.
“We were in foul mode and we were almost ready to lose, but the kids dug deep and made some plays,” BP head coach John Worke said. “It was an exciting game for our kids.”
Madison Worke had four assists for the Awesome Blossoms (10-10 overall, 9-4 Gopher) and Shelbi Swenson added three steals.
