Nancy Ann (Fawver) Loew, 76, of Askov, passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, with loved ones by her side.
Nancy was born on May 5, 1935, to Lloyd and Louisa Fawver in Austin, Minn. She graduated from Austin High School in 1953. Nancy worked for Hormel Foods in Austin for a few years. On April 23, 1955, she married the love of her life, William “Bill” Loew in Blooming Prairie, Minn. In 1957 Bill and Nancy moved to Askov, and in 1962 bought the farm that they lived on for the next 50 years and raised six children.
Nancy had many hobbies. She played on the Askov Women’s Horseshoe League and even brought home a trophy one year. She loved taking pictures of everyone, keeping scrapbooks of newspaper clippings and writing letters to family, friends and pen pals. She was so thoughtful in always sending cards or making phone calls to her friends and family on their birthdays. She loved her flowers, both outside and indoor plants. Nancy enjoyed watching the deer in the fields and was always ready to take a picture of Bill when he would come in from the deer stand with his hunt. She loved garage-saling and entering sweepstakes, and was elated when she would win something, no matter what it was. Nancy was a great cook and baker; she was always baking something, especially pies. Most of all, Nancy, enjoyed her family. She was a wonderful mom, grandma, great-grandma, aunt, sister, friend and especially a loving and devoted wife to her husband of nearly 57 years.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; brother and grandson, Timmy Zaudtke. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Bill; children, Steve (Laurie) Loew, Bill (Kim) Loew, Darrell (Lori) Loew, Cheryl (Tim) Zaudtke, Tom (Lisa) Loew, and Tim (Nadine) Loew; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Janet (Norman) Jensen of Askov and Mary (Charles) Nyberg of Arizona; many sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews and a large circle of friends.
