HAYFIELD — The Hayfield girls basketball team stepped it up in the second half of a 57-43 win over La Crescent (7-19 overall, 2-10 HVL Gold) Friday.

The Vikings (12-12 overall, 6-6 HVL Gold) outscored the Lancers 30-15 in the second half and junior center Abby Pollock put in a career-night as she finished with 22 points and nine rebounds.

“We got it inside to Abby early and often and she delivered,” Hayfield head coach Fred Kindschy said.

With one more non-conference game left, the Vikings finish in fourth place in the HVL Gold Division.
