Fergus puts RCC women’s playoff hopes in jeopardy

The Riverland women’s basketball team lost 60-56 at Fergus Falls Saturday.

Fergus hit a three as the shot clock expired to push a one-point lead back up to four with under a minute left in the game.

The Blue Devils (13-13 overall, 4-7 MCAC South) shot 53 percent from the field, but they had 28 turnovers. Rebekah Aase had 20 points and Robin Arjes had 18, but not other player had more than four.

“We just couldn’t get anything from our guards,” RCC head coach Suzy Hebrink said.

If RCC wins its last game at Minnesota West and Fergus wins its last two games, the fourth and final postseason spot from the MCAC South will come down to a draw.
