50-year-old arrested for assault
An Austin man was arrested after allegedly striking another man in the head over food Saturday afternoon.
Police arrested Michael Lewis, 50, after officers responded to a fight call at a home at the 300 block of First Street SE just before 5 p.m. Saturday, according to Police Chief Brian Krueger.
Officers found a 51-year-old man with a large lump near his right temple along with minor cuts on his forearms. Witnesses told police Lewis struck the man over some food the man served, according to Krueger. Krueger said alcohol was involved as well.
Lewis was taken into custody and the man was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin, where he was treated. The case has been forwarded to the Mower County Attorney’s office.
