GRAND MEADOW — Four Daughters Vineyard and Winery is prepared for a grand occasion this weekend.

The month-old business, just east of Grand Meadow on Highway 16, will hold a three-day grand opening celebration Friday through Sunday. And this time, the public will get its first up-close opportunity to see how it works.

Customers can tour the winemaking room at 2 and 4 p.m. Friday before enjoying live music at 6 p.m. in the wine tasting room. While guests will get to see how the wine is made, they’ll also get to see how well the winemaker, Justin Osborne, plays in a band. Food sampling from gourmet chefs will also be available from 2 to 5 p.m.

“We have a lot of things to offer, so we wanted to make sure everyone has the chance to come in and see,” said owner Vicky Vogt.

More samples and live music will be available on Saturday, and another tour of the production room will take place at 2 and 4 p.m. on Sunday. Wine tasting/glass packages will be discounted, as well.

Vogt said reaction to the new business has been positive.

“We’re very happy with the community turnout and how they’ve just embraced the winery as part of the community,” she said. “Everyone has been so welcoming here and enjoying the atmosphere. We’ve been very happy.”

Four Daughters offers six wines, all created by the winemaker, on site and from cold-hardy grapes. Employees plan to release more varieties in 2012, including a Marquette on Feb. 11 and a Riesling and Apple Cider at a later date.

Four Daughters is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The winery offers a full menu each day, reservation-only dinners and tours and specials. More information can be found at www.fourdaughtersvineyard.com.
