Sons of Norway offers $2K scholarship

Normanna Lodge 52 of the Sons of Norway is offering one $2,000 scholarship per person with a 3.5 grade point average or higher to those who have completed at least two years of college and intend to enroll in a program that leads to a concentration in Norwegian Studies.

Norwegian Studies include arts, crafts, history, International studies, Language, literature, music, folklore and mythology.

The money will be paid to the recipient’s college on Dec. 1 after a statement is received from the college indicating enrollment in a Norwegian Studies program. The student has no obligation to Normanna Lodge following acceptance of the scholarship.

Completed applications should be postmarked by April 15, 2012.

The money used for these scholarships has been given by Shirley M. Bartholomew, Bertha Weiks, and other members and friends of Normanna Lodge.

Interested students should request his or her college to send a transcript of credits to: Secretary, Normanna Lodge 52 Sons of Norway, Box 875 Albert Lea, MN 56007.
