The Austin wrestling team fell to Rochester John Marshall 48-28 in Ove Berven Gym Tuesday.

The Packers (2-3 overall, 2-3 Big Nine) won four of the first five matches to take a 22-3 lead but 182-pounder Mitch Tebay was the only Packer to get a win after 132 pounds as he came up with a pin.

“This meet was another step in the right direction for our team. All of the guys wrestled well tonight,” Austin head coach Bill Kinney said. “We were overmatched at a couple of weights, but even those kids fought hard and didn’t give up. Each week we are getting better. The coaches see it, the fans in the stands can see it, and the wrestlers see it in themselves. It is fun to see a team develop like this.”
