The Riverland women’s basketball team struggled with turnovers as it lost 71-52 at Rochester Community and Technical College (13-3 overall, 2-0 MCAC South) Wednesday.
The Blue Devils (9-9 overall, 0-3 MCAC South) trailed by 12 early in the game, but they rallied to within 25-22 before the Yewllowjackets closed the first half on a 14-6 run.
RCC committed 37 turnovers in the loss.
“We had way too many turnovers and part of it was their full court press, but part of it was also us,” RCC head coach Suzy Hebrink said.
Ashley Lau of Glenville led the Blue Devils with 15 points and Austin grad Rebekah Aase had 14 points and held RCTC’s leading scorer Ali Meyer to 12 points on 4-for-17 shooting.
“Ashley had a good game on offense and Rebekah did a good job on Meyer,” Hebrink said.
