Three people were transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin after their car went airborne into a field near 520th Avenue and 150th Street in Lyle Sunday night.

According to Sheriff Terese Amazi, the accident took place at about 10:15 p.m. The vehicle, a 2002 Ford Expedition, did not stop at the T-intersection and went airborne after hitting signs, a phone box and the ditch at the end of the road. The driver, Chad Williamson, 43, of Glenville, reportedly told police he was speaking with his passengers when the accident happened.

All three occupants sustained back injuries, Amazi said.
