Freeborn-Mower Cooperative Services welcomed Josh Faulhaber and Jodie Distad to its electric cooperative. Since joining the tree trimming crew on Oct. 3, Faulhaber has been clearing power line right-of-ways and learning how underground power lines are installed.
“Every work site is a different scenario. That’s a challenge, but I like it,” said Faulhaber said. “I like working outside and with nice co-workers. Everyone is friendly.”
Faulhaber was raised in Hayfield and had previously worked for Carr’s Tree Service. He and his wife, Chelsea, enjoy country living with their children, 2-year-old Lydia and infant Layne. From their hobby farm, Faulhaber raises cattle and shows them at the area fairs.
Distad joined the FMCS family on Nov. 14 as the administrative/member services representative. Distad will be assisting members and providing support services to cooperative staff.
“It’s exciting to come into a new work environment and learn different aspects of the job,” Distad said. “Everyone has been very helpful, friendly and courteous.”
Distad and her husband, Andrew, enjoy camping and family activities with their sons, 8-year-old Cole and 2-year-old Devin. Distad has also professionally trained and shown horses for 13 years and enjoys this “second family” of customers and friends. She is originally from New York.
