The Austin wrestling team finished in eighth place out of 13 teams at the Andover Holiday Invite Saturday.
Devon Felten took second at 120 and Brennen Russell took second at 126 for the Packers.
Felten lost to defending state champion Izzy Balsiger of Chippewa Falls, Wis. In the finals and Russell lost to Amakale Tilleskjor of Centnnial in the finals. Russell recorded the award for fastest fall as he had a 16 second pin in the first round.
Dylan Diekmann took fourth at 132, Josh Maxfield took fifth at 120 and Connor Eads took sixth at 106.
“We had only one senior in the line-up on Saturday, it’s not out of the question to expect some mistakes or let downs when so many young guys are in the line-up,” Austin head coach Bill Kinney said. “We’ll keep working hard to improve the product we put on the mat.”
