Spring Lake Park downs Hayfield boys

The Hayfield boys basketball team suffered its toughest loss of the season when it played it’s toughest opponent of the season at the Tartan Invite in St. Paul Thursday.
Spring Lake Park (7-1 overall), which is ranked No. 4 in Class ‘AAA’ jumped out to a 17-0 lead and never looked back as it beat the Vikings (6-3 overall) 76-46.
Sean Scott poured in 31 points for SLP.
Hayfield, which didn’t score in the first seven minutes on Thursday, will play in the third place game at 6:15 p.m. Friday in Tartan.
