Red Cross holding drives in Austin, LeRoy

The Red Cross will host blood drives at its Austin location and the LeRoy Community Center in the next several weeks.
A blood drive will from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Red Cross Wednesday, Dec. 28, and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in LeRoy Thursday, Dec. 29.
With your donation this month, the gift of a blood or platelet donation can make an even greater difference. In honor of December blood and platelet donors, a financial contribution will be made to the American Red Cross annual holiday giving program.

All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license, or two other forms of identification are required at check-in.
Individuals who are 17, weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.
High school students and other donors age 18 and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
