Northfield tops Austin girls basketball team

The Austin girls basketball team couldn’t match up with Northfield’s size as they lost 55-37 in Ove Berven Gym Saturday.
The Packers (1-5 overall) trailed 24-23 at the half, but Northfield’s 6-3 center Allyson Harris took over as she finished with 26 points while making all 10 of her free throws, and she also grabbed 14 rebounds and blocked five shots.
Maria Thomoforde added 15 points and 13 rebounds for Northfield (5-1 overall).
“They’re probably the biggest team we’ll play all year and we had a tough time,” Austin head coach Gary Peterson said.
