The Hayfield girls basketball team’s shooting went south as it lost 37-33 to United South Central (8-1 overall) in the second round of the St. Clair Invite Wednesday.
The Vikings (3-6 overall) made just 10 of their 40 two-point attempts as they couldn’t produce enough offense.
“I thought we outplayed them in a lot of areas, they just shot 50 percent and we didn’t,” Hayfield head coach Fred Kinschy said. “We could’t make a shot.”
Hayfield will play Canby in the third place game Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
On Tuesday, the Vikings beat Tri City United as they had just four first half turnovers and jumped out to a 30-13 halftime lead.
