Mower County Sheriff’s deputies have identified the owner of a barrel of copper found in Rose Creek this week.

The owner is Dave Whalen, according to Sheriff Terese Amazi, and the copper wire was scrap from his shop, Whalen Auto Repair.

Amazi said there was no crime committed and no charges will be pursued.
