The Mower County Building Committee trimmed its lists of potential architects for the Law Enforcement Center and Government Center remodel to five Friday.
The board will interview Paul R. Johnson Architects; Zenk, Read, Trygstad & Associates Incorporated; Wold Architects and Engineers; Paulsen Architects and HGA Architects on Jan. 23.
“I think we’ll get someone good out of that list,” said Austin City Council member Judy Enright, who sat in on the discussion for the city. The city and county will jointly pay for the LEC remodel.
The list mixes local and state contractors. Johnson is based out of Austin, and Zenk, Read, Trygstad & Associates is based in Albert Lea. Paulsen is based out of Mankato, and HGA and Wold are from the Twin Cities.
The interviews are expected to take about an hour each. The county commissioners, Enright, City Engineer Jon Erichson, and other county staff will sit in the interviews.
Officials with Knutson Construction, which was chosen as the project’s construction manager, will also be part of the discussions.
