Army Pvt. Robert Learmont has enlisted in the U.S. Army.

Learmont will complete basic military training, followed by attending the cannon crewmember Advanced Individual Training course at a designated military installation. Upon graduating from advanced training, Learmont will be assigned to a permanent duty station to perform duties in his military specialty.

Learmont is the son of Bill and Bette Schimtz of Adams. He graduated in 2006 from Southland High School.
