Support for food drive appreciated

The Austin Jaycees and letter carriers want to thank the generous citizens of Austin for helping stock our food shelf during the recent city-wide collection. Thanks to you, we gathered more than 7,455 pounds of food. We also thank the students at Austin High School and, in particular, the members of AHS Honor Society for their help.

The residents of Gerards, once again, volunteered their time to the cause and we thank them also.

This effort would not be possible without the cooperation of the United States Post Office. Thank you. This drive provides a much-needed boost in food at a critical time and we hope to repeat it next year. Thanks to all who helped in the media to get the word out and all who gave.
