One local student’s art is good enough for a $500 scholarship.

Travis Jensen, a fourth-grader at Lakeview Elementary in Albert Lea, won the scholarship Tuesday for his submission in Hormel Foods’ annual Home+Heart+Art Winter Holiday Art Competition. Jensen, the son of Chris Jensen and Hormel employee Kim Jensen, created the artwork using pencils, crayons, markers and chalk.

Jensen said he enjoys drawing, working with his father and grandfather on their farm, four-wheeling and playing with friends and his sister, Alyssa.
