First snowfall expected Tuesday

The unusually warm weather this fall may come to a close as the area may see its first snowfall Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service in La Crosse, Wis.
A low-pressure system over the southern plains is moving northeast toward parts of Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin and could drop snow; although, meteorologists expect little accumulation.
Zack Taylor, meteorologist with NWS La Crosse, said some roads could see a little accumulation, which may turn into slush. NWS officials forecast more snow on Tuesday night and Wednesday but little accumulation, as well.
Taylor said even though it has been a warm fall, this week’s conditions will be slightly colder than normal. However, there is a chance to reach 50 degrees or above by the weekend, which is still above normal for early November.
“After this system, things look pretty dry for the rest of the week,” Taylor said.
He added NWS officials are closely watching more weather patterns to come next week.
