An altercation in an apartment has ended in homicide, with an Albert Lea man fatally stabbed and a St. Paul woman suffering life-threatening injuries, according to St. Paul police. Police have a man in custody.

Officers responded Saturday about 7 a.m. to an apartment in St. Paul’s North End neighborhood. They found the two stabbing victims along with the suspect.

The female was taken to a hospital. The woman’s husband, 48-year-old Pah Ber of St. Paul, was arrested without incident.

According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, the homicide victim was an acquaintance of the couple.

The name of the man killed and the woman injured have not yet been released.

The Pioneer Press states investigators were combing the grounds of the two apartment buildings on the block during the day Saturday. One of them took what appeared to be bedding from a corner of one of the buildings and placed it in an evidence bag.
