A 31-year-old Austin woman was sentenced to 20 years of probation for a third-degree narcotics crime on Thursday.

Jennifer Marie Ambriz must also complete 80 hours sentence to service. Three charges, including second-degree drug sale, storing meth paraphernalia in the presence of a child and third-degree drug sale, were dismissed when she entered into a plea agreement.

Ambriz served at least 17 days in jail while she awaited sentencing.

According to the criminal complaint, officers from the Southern Minnesota Drug Task Force arranged for a confidential informant (CI) to buy meth from Ambriz on two occasions.

On April 15, the CI went to Ambriz’s residence, 200 First St. SE, and bought 1.1 grams of meth. The CI told officers there were two children in the home at the time of the purchase. The CI purchased two more grams on April 22, according to court documents.

Police searched Ambriz’s home on April 26 and seized two cell phones, papers with phone numbers written on them and a glass pipe that tested positive for meth for evidence.
