Unemployed face more problems

WASHINGTON — After two years out of work, Selena Forte thought she had the right experience for a temporary job at FedEx. But she says a job recruiter told her she wouldn’t be considered because she had been unemployed too long. Forte is part of a growing number of unemployed workers who complain they are being screened out by companies that prefer applicants who already have jobs, or are only recently unemployed. People like her could get help from President Barack Obama’s jobs bill, which would seek to end hiring discrimination against the unemployed.
