The Grand Meadow football team overcame an early speed bump when it beat Glenville/Emmons (2-6 overall, 2-6 SEC) 33-12 in Glenville to close out its regular season Wednesday.
The Superlarks (6-2 overall, 6-2 SEC) jumped out to a 13-0 lead but the Wolverines answered with an interception for a touchdown and a scoring drive to make it 13-12 at halftime.

GM started off with the ball in the second half and they made it count as they put together a scoring drive that saw them convert a fourth down on a punt fake. Sophomore Trenton Bleifus capped the march with a 10-yard run on an option play to make it a 21-12 game.
“We put together a good drive. It took us awhile to get there, but we got momentum back,” GM head coach Gary Sloan said.
GM was led by Richard Bain on both sides of the ball as he ran for 88 yards and had two sacks. Unfortunately he left the game with an injury with four minutes left and his status for the postseason opener next Tuesday at 7 p.m. is uncertain.
