Fourth Avenue crossing Main Street opened for traffic Tuesday afternoon.

Main Street north of Fourth Avenue will be closed for about two more weeks, according to Assistant City Engineer Steven Lang.

A four-way stop sign will serve as the intersection’s stoplight until all construction is done.

Lang said the intersection should be fully functional by November.

“They’re going to finish the concrete paving today, then we need to wait seven days to allow the concrete to cure,” Lang said. “We’ll come in and do the finish work on the boulevards and the lighting. Then it will be open to traffic.”
