The Austin Area Foundation is sponsoring a free Healthy Check-Up for Nonprofits seminar from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13 at the Historic Hormel Home.
The Austin Area Foundation has coordinated this panel of experts ready to present helpful information on legal, financial and fundraising topics: Gail Dennison, Director of Public Relations/Development at The Hormel Institute, Steve Hovey, attorney with Hoversten, Johnson, Beckmann & Hovey in Austin and Ron Walth, CPA with Hill, Larson, Walth & Benda in Austin.
Topics include what state reports must be filed and deadlines, how tax and statute changes affect nonprofits, liability insurance, state and federal requirements and how to win philanthropic support.
There will be plenty of time to answer questions, resource materials will be provided and refreshments will be served. Several members of nonprofit organizations are encouraged to attend together. It is also open to groups considering establishing their group as a nonprofit organization. The seminar is free but AAF organizers want to make sure they have enough resource materials ready.
Registration has been extended through Monday, Oct. 10. Visit austinareafoundatin.org and choose the Contact Us link to e-mail and register or call Belita at 507-433-1657.
