A LeRoy man’s combine has been claimed a total loss after a fire destroyed it Monday evening.

According to Sheriff Terese Amazi, Richard Freerksen was combining his bean field when a fire started in the cab of the combine.

Freerksen exited the cab and the entire combine was in flames within minutes, Amazi said.

The LeRoy Fire Department extinguished the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimate is available.
