Blossoms roll past Mankato Loyola

The Blooming Prairie football team dominated both sides of the ball in a 48-8 win over Mankato Loyola (2-4 overall) on its homecoming night in BP Friday.

The Awesome Blossoms (5-1 overall) led 35-0 at the break as they shut down Loyola’s attack.
“Our defense was lights out in the first half and they played extremely well,” BP head coach Chad Gimbel said.
The wind slowed down BP’s passing game, but Isaiah Toquam still threw for three scores in the first half.
Gabe Kartes finished with 142 total yards of offense for BP and he also ran punt back 33 yards for a score to make it 21-0 with 8:08 left in the second quarter.
BP scored a defensive touchdown when Luke Hueman recovered a fumble in the end zone off a sack by Dennis Schaeffer.
