The Blooming Prairie football team had its lowest scoring output of the season, but its defense got the job done as it beat Faribault Bethlehem Academy (3-5 overall) 20-0 in BP to close out the regular season Wednesday.
The Awesome Blossoms (7-1 overall) held FBA to just 71 yards of offense in the win, which was their second shutout of the season.
“We had a great defensive effort throughout the game and it was pretty awesome to see how they played,” BP head coach Chad Gimbel said.
Isaiah Toquam hooked up with Michael Thomas on a pair of touchdown passes and Gabe Kartes scored on a 20-yard run to provide the offense for BP.
BP will open the Section 1A tournament Tuesday at 7 p.m.
