The Lyle/Pacelli football team scored first, but that was all of the excitement for them as they lost to Glenville/Emmons 68-2 in Glenville Friday.
“We give all the credit to Glenville/Emmons,” L/P head coach Reid Olson said. “They were physical and very aggressive. That’s what we want to be known for and we didn’t rise to the occasion.”
The Athletics (0-2 overall, 0-2 SEC) got a safety on a bad snap on a G/E punt to open the game, but the Wolverines (1-1 overall, 1-1 SEC) went on to take an 8-2 lead on a nine-yard run by Derek Olson. G/E tacked on four more scores in the second quarter as Wyatt Madson hit Perry Kirsch for a 24-yard score, Olson had a three-yard TD run, Caleb Schumaker had a 22-yard TD run and Tylor Nelson had a three-yard TD run.

Junior Garrett Lester led L/P with 46 rushing yards.
“Garett played hard every snap and Jordan Hart got better at quarterback,” Olson said. “Once we get all nine guys working together, we can take a look at things being different.”
