The Austin girls soccer team played a strong 80 minutes, but it ended up on the short side of a 2-0 score in Winona (6-5 overall, 3-5 Big Nine) Tuesday.
The Winhawks scored on a penalty kick in the first half and they scored their second goal with five minutes left in the game.
“We dominated the whole game and we had more opportunities than them, but we couldn’t put one into the net,” Austin head coach Enrique Camarena-Corzo said. “Abby Gallaher played a strong game at keeper for us.”
Austin (4-8 overall, 1-6 Big Nine) has struggled with its offense this season as this is the sixth time it has been shutout.
