Pedal power: LeRoy girl places at nationals

LEROY — Apparently southern Minnesotans aren’t only good at driving tractors, they’re good at pedaling them, too.

Local pedal pull phenom, Abby Dohlman, 4, not only swept local competitors at pedal pulls this year, she received second place among 4-year-old girls in the National Pedal Pulls in South Dakota last weekend. Furthermore, Abby’s pull of 28.9 feet nearly won the competition, as the first-place pull was just longer, at 28 feet.
“So it was a very close pull,” said Abby’s mother, Lacy, of LeRoy. “Round trip was 582 miles and worth every mile.”
